Bomb Explosion Claims Four (4) Lives, Injures Ten (10) in Borno State.

Tragedy struck again in Borno State on Wednesday as a devastating bomb explosion claimed the lives of four travellers and left ten others seriously injured. The blast occurred at Komala village, along the increasingly dangerous Maiduguri–Damboa Road, at approximately 3:30pm.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident involved a Suzuki pick-up truck carrying passengers and goods when it ran over an improvised explosive device planted by suspected insurgents. The explosion tore through the vehicle, instantly killing four occupants and inflicting various degrees of injuries on ten others.

Security personnel and emergency responders quickly mobilized to the scene, while residents looked on in fear and grief. The injured victims were evacuated and rushed to the Borno State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, where they are currently receiving medical attention.

The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed the attack and assured the public that security operatives have intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to prevent further occurrences.

The latest attack comes amid heightened concerns over the safety of commuters and travellers in the region, particularly on roads known for past insurgent ambushes and landmines. Local communities have continued to appeal to both federal and state authorities for increased security presence and long-term solutions to the region's insecurity.

This deadly blast has once again underscored the persistent threat of terrorism in the northeastern part of Nigeria, leaving families shattered and communities fearful.
