Immigration Arrests Enugu Ritualist/Native Doctor while trying to escape from Nigeria.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, has officially confirmed the arrest of a highly wanted suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, who has been implicated in a series of kidnapping and ritual killing cases. Obi Levi Obieze, a native of Umuojor village in the Isiagu Community of Enugu State, is a known native doctor who had been declared wanted by the Enugu State Police Command for his alleged involvement in these heinous crimes.

According to multiple reports, the suspect was involved in the recent abduction of a 13-year-old girl, an incident that has sent shockwaves through the local community. The young girl was abducted while walking with her father to their farm, an event that triggered a swift and coordinated response from law enforcement agencies. The victim was eventually rescued from a shrine believed to be connected to the suspect, following a joint operation by the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration AS Akinlabi, disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road. Authorities intercepted Obi Levi Obieze as he attempted to flee the country on a motorcycle, presumably to evade arrest and prosecution. The arrest was made possible due to vigilant border security measures and the effective collaboration between various security agencies.

During the arrest, officers discovered a National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) enrollment slip in the suspect’s possession, which helped to confirm his identity beyond doubt. Upon initial questioning, Obi Levi Obieze reportedly admitted to his involvement in the crimes under investigation, which has further solidified the case against him.

The Nigeria Immigration Service has reiterated its unwavering commitment to border security and the prevention of criminal elements from escaping justice by crossing national borders. The agency is currently working closely with the Nigeria Police Force to facilitate the formal handover of the suspect for further interrogation and prosecution. This collaboration underscores the determination of Nigerian security agencies to clamp down on kidnappers, ritualists, and other violent criminals who threaten the safety and security of the nation.

The arrest of Obi Levi Obieze marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and ritual killings in Enugu State and beyond. Authorities have assured the public that investigations will continue thoroughly to bring all perpetrators to justice and restore peace to affected communities.
