Sole Survivor of Air India Crash Too Traumatized to Fly, Family Says.

The sole survivor of the tragic Air India crash in June 2025, 40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, may never return to the UK due to an overwhelming fear of flying, his family has revealed.

Ramesh, who was seated near the emergency exit in seat 11A, miraculously escaped the crash that claimed 260 lives, including his brother Ajay. He sustained multiple injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment and counseling in India.

Despite being discharged from the hospital shortly after the incident, Ramesh continues to grapple with severe emotional and psychological trauma. His wife, Hiral, and their four-year-old son have returned to the UK, while Ramesh remains in India, too frightened to board a plane.

The crash has also led to criticism of Indian authorities and the Foreign Office by families of other British victims, citing a lack of communication and mishandling of victims' remains.

As Ramesh continues his recovery, his family remains uncertain about his return to the UK, emphasizing the profound impact the tragedy has had on his life.
