Over 5,700 New Lawyers Formally Called to the Nigerian Bar in Abuja, Nigera.

In a momentous ceremony held in Abuja, a total of 5,728 new lawyers were officially called to the Nigerian Bar, marking the completion of their legal education and professional training. The event, organized by the Body of Benchers and the Nigerian Law School, took place at the Eagle Square and was attended by senior legal practitioners, judges, government officials, family members, and well-wishers from across the country.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Prof. Isa Chiroma (SAN), expressed pride in the successful candidates, highlighting their perseverance through months of rigorous training and examinations. He emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and continued learning as the new lawyers begin their legal careers.

The Chairman of the Body of Benchers, Justice Mary Odili (Rtd), in her remarks, reminded the new wigs that being a lawyer goes beyond the courtroom, it involves upholding the rule of law, defending justice, and maintaining ethical standards.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, also charged the new legal practitioners to contribute positively to the development of the legal system in Nigeria and to be advocates of truth and fairness.
