Tunde Onakoya Presents Guinness World Record (GWR) Certificate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Renowned Nigerian chess master and founder of Chess in Slums Africa, Tunde Onakoya, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday night to present his Guinness World Record certificate for the longest chess marathon.

In April 2024, Onakoya achieved global recognition by playing chess continuously for 60 hours in New York's Times Square, surpassing the previous record of 56 hours and 9 minutes. This remarkable feat was not just a personal milestone but also a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting the education of underprivileged children across Africa.

During their meeting, Onakoya expressed gratitude for the support he received from Nigerians worldwide and emphasized the importance of using his platform to inspire and uplift children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

President Tinubu commended Onakoya's dedication and the positive impact of his Chess in Slums Africa initiative, which has empowered numerous youths through the strategic game of chess.
