Controversial Nigerian street-pop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made headlines once again, this time for rejecting a ₦100 million boxing offer aimed at settling his ongoing beef with outspoken social media critic, VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The proposed match, which was backed by music executive Sosoberekon, promised ₦100 million for the winner and ₦20 million for the loser. But Portable wasn’t impressed by the figures. In his usual dramatic fashion, he publicly dismissed the offer, stating that such a fight would only be worth his time if he’s paid ₦1 billion.
The demand has sparked reactions online, with fans and critics alike debating whether Portable’s ask is realistic or simply another attention-grabbing move. Meanwhile, VDM has yet to officially respond to the updated price tag.
What was intended as a high-stakes showdown in Warri, Delta State may now hang in the balance unless sponsors are willing to meet Portable’s billion-naira demand.
