Ahmedabad Civil Hospital has initiated the process of collecting DNA samples from the remains of the victims. Given the severity of the crash and subsequent fire, many bodies were charred beyond recognition, making DNA profiling essential for accurate identification. The hospital administration has stated that the bodies will be handed over to the respective families only after successful DNA matching.
To facilitate this process, BJ Medical College has been designated as the center for collecting DNA samples from the relatives of the deceased. Families from various parts of the country have traveled to Ahmedabad, providing their samples in hopes of bringing closure to their grief. Among them is a grieving daughter who expressed her profound sorrow, stating she would pay Rs 2 crore to anyone who could bring her father back, highlighting the deep emotional toll the tragedy has taken on the victims' families.
The identification process is expected to take several days, during which families remain in a state of limbo, grappling with uncertainty and heartache. Authorities have assured that all efforts are being made to expedite the process while ensuring accuracy and dignity in handling the remains.
