SEYI TINUBU: S’East YOUTH GROUP DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM NANS FACTION LEADER

Seyi Tinubu: S’East youth group demands apology from NANS faction leader

3rd May 2025.

The South East Youth Stakeholders Council has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Atiku Isah, the factional President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), demanding a public apology for what they term persistent blackmail and misinformation against Seyi Tinubu. This follows Isah's allegations that he was offered a N100 million bribe by Seyi Tinubu and Youth Minister Ayodele Olawande in exchange for promoting the president, claims that Seyi Tinubu has denied.

In a statement signed by chairman Eric Uwakwe, the council criticized Isah's claim to the NANS presidency as “laughable” and an “impersonation of a respected student body.” They asserted that the allegations aim to portray Seyi Tinubu as a “conscienceless youth” and to involve the first family in “false and unverifiable claims” related to bribery and intimidation.

The council expressed that their patience is running thin, warning of potential protests if Isah does not comply with their demand within the stipulated time. They reaffirmed that Olusola Oladoja is the legitimate and recognized NANS President.

Uwakwe condemned Isah's actions as a “propaganda campaign” intended to damage Seyi Tinubu's reputation. The council demanded an apology within 48 hours or threatened to mobilize youth for a significant protest.

Additionally, they expressed strong support for Seyi Tinubu, even pledging to help fund his nomination form if he runs for Lagos governor in 2027. They emphasized their solidarity with him and condemned any attempts to tarnish his image, labeling Isah's actions as a misguided effort that has already failed. The council urged political figures to avoid using youth platforms for divisive purposes and called for calm and constructive dialogue within the student community.
